Re: A Long Rave

@greenpea Smiley Very Happy

How lovely that you had such an early morning chorus of birds to serenade you. Rainy days can be very peaceful and easing of jangled nerves (except when they are not!)

Lol to your thoughts about your son's new pdoc. Smiley LOL

I hope you didn't wrench your ears for real in your sleep, but instead took the earrings out gently.

I feel peaceful, as usual, in this middle of the night time. Mostly today will be a rest day, I think, but I do have a psychologist appointment.

Re: A Long Rave

@Mazarita Mazzy there is this bird here ( you never see it) which makes this sound it goes higher and higher in pitch " wooh, woooh, wooooh, Wooooh, WOOOH!  etc then it goes low woooooo' have you ever come across a bird like that where you live?  I would love to know the name of it and see a picture of it it has such a unique call.,

Re: A Long Rave

@Mazarita a 'pea'ceful day for Mazzy is a good idea 🙂 you have been busy doing so many things it is great that you will be able to just rest today except for the psycholgist appointment (hoping that goes okish for you).

I can hear kookaburras now (that means there is a change in the weather coming).

Re: A Long Rave

@greenpea, I don't have much knowledge of the wide varieties of birds or their calls, and often hear lovely birdsong around here that I can't identify. My favourites around here are currawongs, with their beautiful, often plaintive, bell-like cries; butcher birds, who seem to me to have the most complex and melodic of bird languages; magpies, also great when they do their trilling sounds; swallows, for their amazing super-fast flight patterns; and the very pretty ones, like rainbow lorikeets (screeching playful creatures), pale-headed rosellas (who seem pretty quiet); and other more land-loving bird life that I see at my friend's place. I heard an owl in the night recently, rare and special.

Re: A Long Rave

Re: A Long Rave

Enjoy, @greenpea. I forgot the kookaburras around here, they are favourites too. Lovely to get a little chat with you tonight/morning. Hope the bay looks lovely as you walk. Heart

Re: A Long Rave

Good morning @Mazarita @greenpea @CheerBear and any other early birds flitting about.

@greenpea your unknown bird sounds like it might be a koel - we have one of them visit here at this time of year too.  I heard it a few days ago.

You might be hearing the female and male call to each other.

@Mazarita hope your appointment goes well today.  You too @greenpea.  Looking forward to some catch up chats in real time.

@CheerBear Thinking of you at anniversary time too.  Sometimes they're really tricky times to get through.  Tag me if you want to talk more about it.  'Holding space' for you.

Thinking of you at this time too @Sophia1 and @Shaz51

No further news about bub's impending arrival yet.

Way back in my heyday I made a mask from the wings and shoulder feathers of one I found on the road.  I tried to save it's life first but it was too badly injured.  Did anyone say I was a bit feral?!

Re: A Long Rave

I also had a pair of whistling kite wings I used to wear on my back!  Mind you collecting roadkill wasn't legal but that didn't stop me.  I used to wear them and the mask to the full moon raves.
