Re: Partners who chose to stay for the long haul
Hi @Former-Member Funeral for Mum was yesterday. Graveside burial on a cold overcast day. I was happy with the eulogy I wrote. The minister did the facts and figures and history type stuff, plus extras. I wrote my part on behalf of children and grandchildren. I wanted to deliver it myself, but had standby arrangements in place, should I not be able to on the day.
I got through almost to the end, then couldnt go on. Some particularly poignant memories I tried to tell, broke me. But after hubby came to my rescue I composed myself enough to finish it after a bit of a break. My family are not public speakers AT ALL .. So I was quite proud of myself for doing it. I think Mum would be too. But its all been so emotionally draining.
@Faith-and-Hope @Shaz51 @Zoe7 @greenpea for info. 😀

Re: Partners who chose to stay for the long haul
I am sure your Mum would have been proud of you @Former-Member - such a hard thing to do but you found the strength and courage to firstly write the eulogy then deliver it - even if you needed a little help. Very proud of you too Hon - such a hatd day for you but you did get through it and that shows the enormous strength that we all see here. Hugs and love

@Former-Member You did so well yesterday being able to speak for yourself and your children and grandchildren. Your mother would have been so proud of you:). I am just so sorry that such a wonderful lady like yourself had to go through it all. peaxxx

@Former-Member
Public speaking is not an easy thing to do even more so at such an emotional time ... sending an extra tight hug your way.

Hello @Radleritis 👋
Come and meet some others who care for their partners.
Frustration = an emotion that us carers are familiar with, sometimes just sharing about it is enough, if you would like some of us to let you how we handle it which could be of help to you, please just ask. You might find some helpful tips in this discussion Carers-Hints-and-tips.
