Re: I lost my shirt, I pawned my rings; I've done all the thumb dings...

Thanks for swinging by @Sans911

I was a late bloomer when it came to Paul Kelly....gosh, just had a flashback to

watching Countdown in the 70s.Smiley Frustrated

Unless I crack a significant win in the lottery (helps if I buy a ticket), I will be homeless next Monday and in crisis accommodation....and, boy, that really throws some entities for a loop when they want a forwarding address.

Me: Don't have one, use my email.

Them: We need a forwarding address.

Me: No you don't, are you a paperless organisation or not?

Them:.........?

At the storage facility, had to do an electronic signature, expected to be handed a stylus,

Them:  Oh...just sign with your finger.

Me: (thinks don't tempt me); says you going to disinfect it?

Them:.....??

Me:  I ain't touching that thing until I see you wipe it down.

Been a loooooong day, my taco feast has to wait until the morrow.

@Appleblossom

Cheers for your support.

Re: I lost my shirt, I pawned my rings; I've done all the thumb dings...

Your "valderi valdera" "knapsack on my back" images ... were a real jolt from the past but cheered me up no end.

@Jo-anneJoy

I am getting fitter at the moment by doing paving.  I am actually enjoying it and staggering the work to suit my addled old body and mind.

Wonder if you were with the same helping organisation as I was for 7 years ... plus conferences and soup vans.  It does help to walk on both sides of the poverty line, but at the moment your "in need" and I hope you get housing solved.

Take Care

I'm that far in t'hole @Appleblossom  I can't see the poverty line anymore. Cat Sad

My removalist touched base a little while ago to confirm thunderbirds are go tomorrow

and that - if I like - I can ride shotgun with them, up front in the truck, to the storage facility and

back home again.  I can barely manage to climb up into a landcruiser since I've lost rotation in my lower back so will sadly have to decline the offer to be squashed between two sweaty beardy stranger blokes in a confined space for 30 minutes.  ..... not on your nelly, mate.

Unplugging my computer now (sob) and this time tomorrow night (Thursday) the worst

will be over and I can kick back and relax.

Catch you all on the flipside.

...so the removalists were four hours late.......fortunately they were

boomers, not a beardy baldy tribal-sleeve tattoo in sight.

Last night the aged speakers on my computer popped their clogs after

22 years - guess I'll just have to read those library books that I don't have

to return until end June.

After watching the Big Truck turn the corner with all my worldly goods, when

I came back inside, Jailbreak was on the radio.....nice one, Bon.

Re: I lost my shirt, I pawned my rings; I've done all the thumb dings...

Glad you got your gear sorted.

Have you heard from anyone about where you are going to live @Jo-anneJoy

How many days is it again?

Re: I lost my shirt, I pawned my rings; I've done all the thumb dings...

@Appleblossom  Last contact from a housing mob about a home-at-last was on 31 March.  The centralised IAP has assured me they'll subsidise transitional crisis accomodation so long as I kick in 50% of my income but as IAP workers aren't doing face-to-face, (and who knows how long the covid-restrictions will go on for), I don't know how short term band-aid that option really is, and can't get past the 'currently-all-our-operators-are busy, please-call-back' gatekeeper bot.

One of the new owners here asked where I was moving to, I said Nunya.  Smiley Indifferent

Re: I lost my shirt, I pawned my rings; I've done all the thumb dings...

@Jo-anneJoy I really hope you can get somewhere with the housing people soon. Are you still in your old place till 28 April - with no furniture?

Re: I lost my shirt, I pawned my rings; I've done all the thumb dings...

Thinking of you @Jo-anneJoy

Not that really helps.

Smiley Sad

Maybe worth showing up at front door of a local housing office.

They have to admit you exist then.

Keep faith that you deserve a place.

Hands open with a I dont know what else to do look on face.
