Recovery club is pretty new @Till23 . I'd say a few months? So many it wasn't around then? I'm not reallly sure.
Whatever it is, feel free to access the services as you feel you need.
Life can be one big mystery and we never know what curveballs will be thrown at us.
It's so great to have you as part of our community. @Till23 @Shaz51

Yeah I'm not sure either @tyme that would have been early 2023.
Anyhow, on that note, I think one of the big things, which I say about everything is Communication, communication, communication.
Good communication will save so much angst.
I am bringing this up, because it's recent and topical, I am not complaining or pointing fingers - except I suppose to the whole organisation. It's a funny organisation because it is large and fragmented and the organisation is also the users.
But
1. When the phone line ceased there were no obvious announcements anywhere, I only found out because someone on the forums mentioned it (not that I would have rung it) and I actually asked the CEO on forums if it was true. A huge pool (in fact, probably, the major percentage of phone line users would be on the forums) - but no announcement. The reason I decided to ask RachSANECEO was because when I googled - no information could be found and other services were still saying call SANE, for about a week or so after it had closed it was still on the numbers on the right hand side of this page. A few people on the forums were very upset and I thought a bit of good communication could have really helped
2. The temporary cessation of overnight moderation on forums I also felt was not well communicated, there was an announcement and it was given about a week out. But I felt neede to be highlighted better. Again not a problem for me I would rarely access forums betweem midnight and 6am. Again it may have been possible for IT to program an automoderator to say to new contributors you won't see any activity or even your post until 6am. I did reply to close to midnight new contributor post with that info, because I felt, they amy feel, well what's the use if they posted and no one acknowledged it.
Maybe I am overthinking (I definitely do that) but I just want MH support to be as smooth as possible for people.

Also, just for context, these things happened because of sudden changes that we were required to make. There was limited time, even for us @Till23
But I still feel it's important feedback.

Yeah absolutely @tyme the only way things can change or move forward is if people give constructive feedback. I'm pretty passionate about equitable access to MH care (well any healthcare) for all regardless of all those possible barriers - culture, sexuality, socio-economic disadvantage etc etc

Yes @tyme I realise the temporary overnight non-moderation was a sudden thing.
I wasn't sure about the phone line
However, the fact that it was sudden means the need for clear, timely communication is even more important, in my humble opinion
I am not complaining or finger-pointing as I said, please do not think I am being in anyway critical of any individuals (incl CEO)
I worked for NSW Health I know about bureauracy and in COVID things were changing multiple times per day or even per hour sometimes.
I am not under any misapprehension that there is unlimited funding and staffing and that you are all sitting around actually drinking coffee and twiddling your thumbs. But because of these limitation you need rock solid governance and timely communication otherwise it wastes more time putting out fires later

Totally agree @Till23 . Definitely worth feeding back to those above.

Hi @Jynx how are you going this friday evening. Cool and rainy here.
I have sort of been floating around the forums trying to be of supportive of other people and have been ignoring my own stuff. Looke like I might not have been that supportive though.
But I'm and adult so that's on me - but I may have overstretched myself. Sometimes I find it difficult to have any balance.

@Till23 curious what makes you say you haven't been supportive? Sometimes, just knowing another person has heard us can make all the difference in the world you know!
Balance is like, an ongoing theme in my life hey. Can be so hard to find!! Do you feel like turning your energy inward is the way to go? What do you do to refill your cup?
