Hi @Zoe7 I hope you are having a lovely day.
It happens to be a lovely blue sky sunny day where I am and there is warmth in the sun.
Thank you for your response. Thank you for your support regarding these communications issues.
I am in the interesting position of having been on both sides of these type issues due to my previous jobs.
I am very aware of the issues regarding infrastructure, personnel and what it pretty much always comes down to, funding.
I try to see all sides of an issue before commenting. I often don't fully agree with people's perspectives on the forums, because sometimes they lack nuance and a holistic understanding of situation. I understand that is how the situation feels to them, but with forums issues, there are thousands of people here including people, like yourself, who are members and have other roles. Sometimes people's responses to issues do not take account of those people who are trying their best to make the forums work for everyone. I hope my articulated response to these issues contains nuance.
I am comfortable with my position on the issues you have discussed and the action I have taken regarding them.
Most of the rest of 'my' thread Tillogram is my reaction/feelings/thinking around other issues in my life, which I have more difficulty with. So you may have though I was doubting my response to the Sane communication issues, which I am not. But thanks for your concern it was lovely to see and that you reached out to me.
I am a bit old school, so I'm only watching Patience as it is shown on scheduled broadcast TV. I sometimes rewatch a bit of an episode on iView if I was not fully concentrating, like I'm on the forums at the same time.

Oh that's interesting @Shaz51 ages ago I ahd a problem with posts saying they weren't going and then I'd suddenly have said the same thing multiple times - it's gone away now

Much like you @Till23 I too have been/still are, on both sides and know there is always more to a story that what is often presented. SANE is a small non-profit and does more than it's size would usually do so I get the personnel, funding and time issues. What has not been done very well for a long time is putting in processes to counteract sudden changes and I know it is an area they are still very much working on ...but as with all things - it takes time and the right people in the right places at the right time to get things done. This is not a criticism of those already working extremely hard in the organisation - quite the contrary - they do an amazing job often fulfilling/filling several roles at one time to keep things running. But as with any organisation, improvements can be made - especially with communication to it's members. This is not an isolated incident and has been a long running issue with communicating changes to our members. It has been pleasing to see that the suggested "Spotlight" announcement regarding the overnight moderation pause has been pinned to the landing page but this should have been done before the changes happened ...we live and learn though hey.
As for the tv show - I tend to watch a series through these days. Mainly because I watch most things on my laptop as I do other things. The only thing I usually sit down to watch on tv is sport. I find reality tv ridiculous and there is so much of it on tv these days so once I find something I like, I watch all of it (sometimes over several days whilst I am getting work done for school so often rewind parts also).
I will take a look over this thread later to read a bit more of your story ❤️

Hi @Shaz51 just wanted to quickly pop in and let you know that we're aware of the issue on the forums this morning and it should be a one-off thing. Really sorry that it affected you, hopefully you were still able to post and I'm happy to see it hasn't deterred you from being here today 😊 Always lovely to see you and @Till23

Yes I agree @Zoe7 communication is actually a low cost solution or at least amelioration to/of many problems as I said further up this thread.
I think the fact there is "nothing on TV' is why I space out my viewing because it's good to look forward to a good thing. I do not engage with reality TV so, these days, there goes two-thirds of programming on the commercial channels I mainly watch ABC and SBS (need to be careful I am not viewed as some kind of "snob" by people 😂) So little good TV (and less Australian drame) is amde these days (another funding issue). I do like a few sports which I like to watch on TV (again many have been moved to pay TV!)

I watch mainly ABC and SBS as well @Till23 There are some shows on other channels I have already watched online. I love crime/mystery shows so seek them out the most. Presently watching Dark Winds on SBS but only 2 episodes to go so will find something else for next weekend - I don't watch a lot during the week.

Hey @Till23 how are you going today?
Just want you to know that you're absolutely not alone in that feeling - the concern about 'taking up space from other members' is remarkably common here. I think for a lot of us, especially if we have childhood trauma, we've been conditioned to bottle up everything - including our need for others to care about us too.
I know how confronting it can be to let oneself be vulnerable, to say 'hey, I need help' and then allow that help - it can actually feel super uncomfortable and 'wrong'. So please know that, whilst we would never stop reaching out to you, we also know that can, in itself, feel threatening. So by all means tag me if you wanna chat - and also feel free to tell me to bugger off if it feels all ooky 😋 Either way, you deserve my time as much as the next person!

Hi @Jynx thanks for your enquiry
I hope you managed to have a good break from the forums and have had a great day.
I have to say I just logged on one last time to tidy up some stuff, when I saw your post.
It was blue sky sunny here today and warm in sun.
This looked predictive for a good day.
I went to sport early this morning which was freezing
I came home and did quiet a few things.
So all looking good over 10,000 steps by 1pm, so feeling pretty good
While having lunch I logged into forums
Saw this:
This is an advocacy thread @Till23 .
I found your response patronising.
So the post didn't titillate your desire for novelty? And everyone knows about the issue anyway? And you will single-handedly educate those who aren't aware?
I wasn't aware of this particular incident until reading the Guardian item. I was struck by the reporter making the effort to articulate the broader concerns. I thought it might be of interest to friends like @Appleblossom who share my concerns about police interventions in mental health, and media representations of mental illness.
I feel I should abstain from posting in this space again. @tyme
It was on Another MH death in custody
Here is my post (Which I have now deleted due to causing offence) that triggered above response
Oh I was worried there for a second @[Thread author] I thought it was a new, new case. However, I knew about this one. I think may have been on 7.30 on ABC (not sure) during the week
Yes, as we know, the whole system needs an overhaul.
I have put my hand up to use my experience to educate stakeholders on MH and accessing service - haven't had first meeting yet, but will let you know what happens
So Not Good Enough again, in fact actually HARMFUL
I posted a response in the thread apologising with some explanation of what I was trying to say, deleted my original offensive post, sanctioned myself from Advocating for change Space and am considering just leaving the forums altogether.
Little does the member know in the last couple of days someone died following police intervention less that a km from where I live and I witnessed the scene of this (not the actual incident)
Of course I wished I was dead and have started to organise things I need to do first so as not to cause more problems for people should I decide on a more final course of action
Thanks for your support over the last few months @Jynx @AuntGlow @tyme
I need to send a photo to @Ru-bee and @rav3n for the newsletter because I made that promise.
I will delete my posts and then So long, and thanks for all the fish (from A Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy - published in 1984 - probably before any of you PSWs were born!)
Sorry
